    J-RAB Inc. Vision Statement

    To empower our residents to understand J-RAB's mission of protecting all our residents and advocating for the concerns/issues with Knowledge, Patience and Supportive approaches when dealing with low to moderate income residents of Hamilton Country focused policies as well as our community-based partners(s).

    J-RAB's  Vision is to collectively Protect tenant's rights with a no non-sense approach while promoting self-determination and encouraging and striving uplift each resident in their effort to improve their well-being.

    In April of 2014, under the J-RAB 's leadership, residents of Hamilton County applied for and received a pre-planning grant worth $30,000 (from the Finance Fund of Ohio) to explore the feasibility and to develop a business plan for a public housing resident-focused, owned, and driven business incubator; resulting in the establishment of the Business and Service Coordination Center which will open its doors on May 17, 2016

    In April of 2015, J-RAB, Inc. received both the "Resident Association of the Year Award", and the "Resident Leader of the Year Award" from a body of its peers beating out both New Jersey and New York City.

    In June of 2015, the J-RAB Inc convened its "1st Annual Resident Empowerment Conference" at the Cintas Center of Xavier University. It brought into Cincinnati resident sensitive empowerment speakers and hosted Public Housing Resident Association Leaders from across the state of Ohio.

    In June of 2016, the J-RAB Inc convened its "2nd Annual Resident Empowerment Conference" again at the Cintas Center of Xavier University. It brought into Cincinnati resident sensitive empowerment speakers and hosted Public Housing Resident Association Leaders from across the state of Ohio.

    Cincinnati's J-RAB Inc has also built alliances locally (the Legal Aid Society, HOME, CMHA, CPD, Job Corps, The Crossroads Center, CAA, the Urban League and many others), and the National Low Income Housing Board of which Miss Calhoun is a Board Member, HUD, The Housing Justice Network, and Motivation, Inc.- with Section 3, Can I Live, and many other resident-centered empowerment organizations.

    Mission

    Our mission is to increase obtainable employment and contracting opportunities generated by two broad categories of the U.S. Department HUD. To empower our residents of Hamilton County to understand J-RAB's mission of protecting and advocating for the concerns/issues of all residents with knowledge, patience, and supportive approaches when dealing with low to moderate-income residents in Hamilton County thru focused policies which include assisting participants in upgrading their skills and abilities to obtain active employment, economic striving, self-sufficiency, and legacy building understanding and due diligence.
